Colleen is warm, non-judgemental and empathetic. She has a keen interest in working with both young people and adults who have experienced early childhood trauma. She places importance on developing a trusting and safe therapeutic space for clients to feel able to gain a deeper understanding of their difficulties, particularly the role of early childhood experiences. She is keen to understand someone’s unique experiences that have led them to experience distress, while cultivating empowerment to work towards their recovery goals. Colleen also has a strong interest working with Police Veterans.
Colleen is passionate about using Schema Therapy to assist clients, while drawing upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) depending on the clients needs. Colleen has also recently trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to treat PTSD.
