Assessments

STIA provides a range of assessments to children, adolescents, and adults. We aim to provide strong evidence-based services to individuals within the community offering expertise in psychological assessments and intervention.

Psychological assessments are utilised to identify underlying challenges, aid diagnoses, and aid treatment planning. We offer the gold standard in assessment for intellectual, educational, clinical, social-emotional, and functional assessments.

Psychological assessments may also be used to diagnose neurodevelopmental disorders (Autism, ADHD, Intellectual disability), specific learning disorders or learning difficulties, giftedness, school readiness, and a range of social-emotional difficulties including; personality disorders, psychosis, anxiety/mood disorders, eating disorders, and oppositional or conduct disorders.

Our packages

 
  • This package is suitable for children above the age of 6 and adults, providing intelligence and educational assessment to give insights into cognitive strengths and weaknesses as well as Verbal comprehension skills, Visual/non-verbal intellectual skills, Memory and learning skills, Attention and information processing, Higher-level/ executive skills (such as problem-solving, planning, reasoning, impulse control and organisation), and Academic skills (such as reading, comprehension, writing, math, and oral expression).

    The package includes an initial interview (50-minutes), standardised cognitive assessment, standardised academic assessment, administration of other relevant questionnaires, a detailed report with tailored recommendations for the individual, and a 30-minute feedback session.

    The assessment package takes several hours which will be broken down into 3-4 sessions. There may be times when a school observation may also be warranted (which may include additional time and fees).

  • This package is suitable for children above the age of 6 and adults, providing intelligence and educational assessment to give insights into cognitive strengths and weaknesses as well as Verbal comprehension skills, Visual/non-verbal intellectual skills, Memory and learning skills, Attention and information processing, Higher-level/ executive skills (such as problem-solving, planning, reasoning, impulse control and organisation), and Academic skills (such as reading, comprehension, writing, math, and oral expression). The package uses similar standardised assessments to cognitive testing, however, focuses on the profile of executive functioning, which questionnaires used to assist with diagnosis.

    The package includes an initial interview (50-minutes), standardised cognitive assessment, standardised academic assessment, administration of other relevant questionnaires, a detailed report with tailored recommendations for the individual, and a 30-minute feedback session.

  • The package is suitable for individuals 18 years and older who are seeking a personality assessment. The MMPI®-3 is a contemporary personality assessment for mental health, medical, forensic, and public safety settings. The MMPI-3 is administered via computer and takes approximately 50 minutes to complete.

    The package includes an initial interview (50 minutes), standardised assessment (50 minutes), a detailed report with recommendations, and a feedback session (30 minutes).

  • Functional assessments for daily living skills by an Occupational Therapist that can assess how you manage day-to-day tasks and what supports you made need to be as independent as possible, including NDIS-based assessments.

  • This package is suitable for individuals 18 years and older who are seeking a Diagnostic Assessment. The Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5 Disorders (SCID-5) is a comprehensive clinical assessment used for diagnostic purposes. The SCID 5 is administered by a clinician via a structured interview and takes approximately 30 to 180 minutes, depending on diagnostic complexity and any relevant co-occurring conditions.

    The package includes an initial interview (50 minutes), standardised assessment and detailed report with treatment recommendations, and a feedback session (30 minutes).
